STARKS offers the convenience of accepting MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Visa credit cards for PAYMENTS TO THE TOWN OF STARKS.

 

The payment processing company charges a convenience fee of 2.5% or $1.00 minimum to cardholders who use this service.

Now you can pay your PAYMENTS TO THE TOWN OF STARKS from the comfort of your home or office by using our online payment service. Credit cards accepted: MasterCard, Discover, American Express or Visa. A per transaction convenience fee of 2.5% or $1.00 minimum will be charged by the payment processing company for this service.

PayPort is a service offered by a third party working in partnership with the State of Maine and this municipality. As part of our service to you, we will remit the designated portion of your payment to the municipality on your behalf. The balance funds the operation of this and other Maine.gov online services. Conducting business through Maine PayPort is voluntary and the final cost may be higher than using other forms of payment. This service is provided by the Information Resource of Maine (InforME) as designated in statute of (M.R.S.A.Title 1, Ch. 14).

Transactions up to $40  - $1 processing fee
Transactions over $40 - 2.5% processing fee

IMPORTANT: A 2.5% surcharge applies for all credit card payments (minimum fee is $1.00).

Interest on 2020 tax bills will begin on November 29th!

For 2023 Property Taxes paid after November 24, 2023 an 8% APR interest will begin accruing – don’t forget to include the interest in your payment.  Call for the additional interest amount or calculate as follows:  

# of days late ÷ 365  X  amount of your tax bill X .08 = amount of interest to add to payment

 

Example:

​

$2000 Original Tax Bill paid on January 15th, 2024

52 days late ÷ 365  = .1425

.1425 X $2000 X .08 = $22.80 (amount of interest to add to your payment)

Remit a payment of $2022.80.
